Gustav Burton, a 15-year-old Year 10 student at Felsted School, has joined Douglas Motorsport for the balance of the 2018 season and will be participating in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 14-17 years. With the support of Felsted School, he is committing every penny of the sponsorship/advertising on his race car to The Sparkle Foundation.
The car he drives is known as ‘The Sparkle Car’ and has currently sourced over £16,000 worth of sponsorship for this season which is going towards the building of two new classrooms, offices and staff toilets. The work is due to commence this summer and be completed by early 2019.
This means the absolute world to us and most importantly the children in Malawi. We’re delighted that such a young individual is using his passion to make such a positive impact. When we told the children in Malawi what Gus was doing, they all changed their minds about what they wanted to be when they grow up and now we have a lot of our little Sparkles wanting to be drivers, just like their friend Gus!
We are so touched that he’ll join us on this journey and grateful for the support his family have offered us over the duration of the campaign. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Gus the very best of luck!
The wonderful folk over at Cornelius Group PLC and SureGreen have also sponsored the car for which we are incredibly grateful. Joining them in the sponsorship is a number of other businesses including Ecogold Green Products, Rail Op, Amore Autos, Madison Brook International, BGL Markets, Xped Global, Ecurie 137, Online Estate Agents and Felsted School.
